With Pat Hayes, the RISC-IP manufacturer MIPS Technologies has a new Chief Engineer with the rank of a vice president. In his “earlier life”, Hays worked among others at the Bell Laboratories on the development of AT&T/Lucent’s DSP32 and DSP16. There was no mention of what happened to Hays predecessor.
