National Semiconductor: second quarter 2006 09-12-05

More revenue, more profit

National Semiconductor reported revenues of $544.0 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2006, which ended November 27, 2005. The second quarter revenues were 10 percent higher than the first quarter of fiscal 2006, and 21 percent higher than the year-ago Q2. Net income was $114,7 million, an increase of 27,4 percent from last Q2-quarter's income. The sequential revenue growth was driven by strong demand from National’s wireless handset customers as well as the broader markets served through the distribution channel.
