Dr. Peter Köhler (52) will be the new spokesman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Weidmüller Group executive board starting March 1, 2011. He will join the three-person executive committee alongside Harald Vogelsang (chief financial officer) and Volpert Briel (chief sales officer). The previous spokesman, Dr. Joachim Belz (53), will be leaving the company. "
Since 2002, Köhler has been the executive director of W.C. Heraeus GmbH in Hanau, a division of the stainless-steel and technology corporation Heraeus. With over 4,900 employees around the globe, Heraeus W.C. generated 1.667 billion euro of product revenue in 2009. Köhler was a member of the managerial board at the Weidmüller Group from 1996 to 2002 and will join the executive board on March 1, 2011. He is a board member for the German Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), a member of the German government's National Platform for Electric Mobility (NPE), and a member of the German Asian-Pacific Business Association (OAV).
