Steve Haynes was named as President of Avnet Memec EMEA. Haynes succeeds Franz Zimmermann, who retires by the end of 2005 due to unexpected health problems. Haynes joined Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA in 1999 as Vice President Sales. Prior he worked in various sales and marketing roles for RCA, GE and Intersil and Harris Semiconductor. Haynes will lead an organisation of more than 200 employees. Avnet Memec represents more than 50 technology suppliers and is pan-European, present in all major markets, including Eastern Europe and Turkey.
