SigmaTel, a provider of mixed-signal multimedia solutions, announced Kevin Beadle as its new senior vice president of sales and marketing. He replaces Michael E. Barton who is retiring after 35-plus years in the semiconductor industry. Barton will continue in a consulting capacity with SigmaTel for the foreseeable future. Beadle comes from Zarlink and will manage the global sales team and all corporate marketing activities for SigmaTel's product lines. He started his career as a design engineer with Motorola's Memory Systems Group. This was followed by a succession of roles in sales and marketing with National Semiconductor, IDT, and Zarlink.
