LSI Logic announced the promotion of Flavio Santoni to the position of Executive Vice President, Storage Sales and Marketing. In this role, he will lead the global storage sales, marketing and customer support team worldwide in delivering the spectrum of storage building block solutions, including custom and standard silicon components, host bus and RAID storage adapters, modular storage systems and storage-related software products. Santoni joined LSI in February 2001 as vice president of worldwide marketing for the company's Engenio storage systems subsidiary (formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc.), becoming additionally responsible for its worldwide sales and customer support operations in October 2001. In August 2004, he was named senior vice president and was elected an LSI Logic corporate officer in December 2005. Previously, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sutmyn Storage Corporation and held various senior management positions with Memorex Telex in the US, UK and Italy.
