Oki Electric Industry will outsource its semiconductor segment to the Oki Semiconductor Company on the 1st October 2008. The focus of the product range is on low power high voltage technologies, mixed signal solutions and miniaturised modules. Miyazaki Oki and Miyagi Oki will follow as subsidiary companies. In the course of this transaction, Rohm has already announced its interest in taking over Oki Semiconductor. Both companies are involved in negotiations. The purchase price is said to be in excess of 950 m US$.
