The Schwabhausen-based Isystem and the British manufacturer Artisan Software Tools, announced their cooperation with the integration of Isystem emulation and debug technology and the UML standard development environment of Artisan Studio.
The first results of this cooperation are presented by both manufacturers in their solution for On-Target simulation. With the integration of Isystem technology into Artisan, the behavior of a UML modeled condition diagram, previously simulated on the PC, can now be analyzed in parallel on a real target system. This ensures that the relationship to the real world can be established at an early point in the software creation process. In this way, with all user interfaces in UML, the focus of an embedded system project is never lost as it consists of dedicated hardware running - to the greatest possible extent - error-free software.
In their cooperation, the software tools have reacted to the special demands of the automotive industry for continuous development tools for the whole development process. Up to now there have been numerous tools used consecutively in different sections of the creation process of a standard embedded system. The utilization of UML and the integration of these tools with emulation and debug technology is a decisive contribution to merging development sections and mastering the currently increasingly complex software in embedded systems. In addition, requirements for smooth transitions and automations, in the embedded systems development process are achieved.
