The new Simatic TP 177A and TP 177micro touch panels from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) are equipped with a 5.7 inch touch display providing a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Unlike prior models, these two units can now also be used standing "on edge" with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. In addition, the graphics capabilities have been expanded by the addition of vector graphics. The touch panels are designed for operating and monitoring small machines and systems, and the TP 177micro is set up for use with the Simatic S7-200 mini PLC.
