Power triac photocoupler with 800V off state voltage 12-07-07

The TLP3082 power triac photocoupler from Toshiba Electronics Europe features reinforced insulation and 5kV isolation voltage for AC safety applications. Specified with an off-state voltage of 800V, Toshiba’s TLP3082 consists of a zero-crossing (ZC) photo-triac optically coupled to a gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared emitting diode. Maximum inhibit voltage for zero-crossing is just 20V, contributing to reduction of EMI emissions. The LED and triac are encased in a single 6-lead plastic DIP, offering a compact solution which conforms to the clearance and creepage requirements of international standards.

The TLP3082 is recognized by UL 1577 and can be used to ensure conformance to IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2 safety standards. The new device is designed for use in a wide range of applications, in particular those that require control of 240V mains voltages. These include washing machines, dishwashers, heaters, office automation, industrial systems, solid state relays (SSRs) and other AC power and triac driven applications. The TLP3082 features a low trigger current of 10mA, and can deliver a maximum on-state output current of 100mA. Maximum leakage in inhibited state is 600µA.
