The RTPA2A Real-Time Probe Adapter is interface hardware module that allows Tektronix active probes to be used with Tektronix Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers (RTSA). The interface allows connection of high frequency in-circuit probes for RF signals up to 8 GHz and enables base band analysis of IQ signals. The RTPA2A is designed for the RSA3408A, RSA3300A series, RSA2200A series, and WCA200A Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers.
The adapter provides probe power for up to two Tektronix P7000 Series probes through an external power supply. Probe control signals are handled through a USB cable that connects the RTPA2A to the RTSA. This allows the RTSA to automatically adjust level offset to account for attenuation factors of the different probes. The RTPA2A Real-Time Probe Adapter is available now for use with new Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers. Existing RTSA units require Windows XP and a firmware upgrade to version 3.10. The firmware will be available for download free of charge from Tektronix.com when released this fall.
