Bergquist’s Sil-Pad A2000 electrically insulating thermal interface material provides high thermal performance, particularly in applications which use low contact pressures between components and heat sinks. The material is RoHS-compliant and available pre-cut to fit industry-standard packages; custom-cut to order; or in roll form. Sil-Pad A2000 is composed of an elastomeric material reinforced with fibreglass. This yields an thermal conductivity specification of 3.0W/m-K, combined with these electrical characteristics: a dielectric constant of 7.0 (at 1kHz), volume resistivity of 1011Ohm-m, and dielectric breakdown voltage of 4kVAC.
Supplied in thicknesses of 0.381 to 0.598mm, Sil-Pad A2000 is more compliant than standard thermal management products, inherently lowering losses at the interface between materials. This reduction in interfacial losses produces a material with TO-220 thermal performance of 2.05°C/W, at a contact pressure as low as 69kN/m2. The material is designed for continuous use across a wide temperature range (-60°C to +200°C).
