In the second quarter of 2009 Tyco Electronics reported sales of 2.46 billion US$ which is 33 percent below the results of the same period of the previous year. The net loss was 3.24 billion US$ compared to the 301 million profit US$ of Q2/2008. The high losses are attributed to the 3.55 billion US$ impairment of goodwill.
