Semiconductor market in Germany in November 2007 19-12-07

Source: ZVEI

With the same number of orders received, the turnover for semiconductors in Germany in November was only slightly above that of the previous month at 8% below the same month of the previous year after 6% less than the previous month in October 2006 and minus 5% in September 2006. Accumulated, the growth in Germany in the first 11 months of 2007 was 3% lower when compared to the same period of the previous year. The turnovers, with the same quantities of orders received, have improved only marginally against the normal seasonal trend. This confirms the pessimistic expectations for a growth in the market in 2007 with a marked reduction over the previous year.

The cause of this decline is mainly a weakness in discretes and Optos, whereas ICs were almost on the same level as the previous year. The constantly higher value of the Euro has meanwhile become a main influencing factor in the numerically weak Euro growth figures. When calculated in Dollars, German lies, also in November, (cumulatively) unchanged, with an increase of 5%, in the positive area – and also above the growth of the whole of Europe.
