Seminar Series: AdvancedTCA & MicroTCA in practice 20-02-07

Together with Intel, Kontron, Windriver and Radvision, Schroff are holding free of charge seminars on the subject of AdvancedTCA/MicroTCA in the Netherlands, Germany, Israel, Sweden, Italy, Russia and France. The seminars predominantly provide basic information for users of systems, boards, backplanes, software etc. mainly to show the application possibilities and ways of migration in the telecom and industry areas. For the practical demonstration a real, operating installation will be shown.

Seminar dates and venues:

  • 24.04.2007 – Eindhoven (The Netherlands)
  • 26.04.2007 – Munich (Germany)
  • 29.04.2007 – Tel Aviv (Israel)
  • 03.05.2007 – Stockholm (Sweden)
  • 08.05.2007 – Milan (Italy)
  • 16.05.2007 – Moscow (Russia)
  • 23.05.2007 – Paris (France)

The AdvancedTCA standard is being recognised for telecom applications, and large integrators and manufacturers are replacing proprietary solutions with high performance AdvanctedTCA systems. Therefore, smaller systems with higher performance and lower switch power are required in the peripheral area of the telecommunications networks. The solution for these demands is MicroTCA. The MicroTCA specification extends the application possibilities of the Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMCs) in such a way, that these boards can be the basis for stand-alone systems. With MicroTCA, the same AdvancedMC modules that are used with AdvancedTCA are assembled directly in special subracks with backplane. Through its flexibility and modularity the MicroTCA standard has the potential to replace present solutions of industry applications.
