Semtech acquires Sierra Monolithics 19-11-09


Semtech will acquire Sierra Monolithics, for $180 million in cash. Headquartered in Irvine, California with design centers in Irvine and Redondo Beach, California, Sierra Monolithics provides analog ICs and solutions for communications systems and applications. Sierra Monolithics was founded in 1986, and has approximately 110 employees including over 60 engineers. SMI provides 40Gbps and 100Gbps SERDES product portfolio. The company expects to generate approximately $50 million of revenue for calendar year 2009.

 

The Semtech revenue for the financial year 2009 was $294.8 million. The income was $37.5 million.
