Weidmüller updates its Klippon STB range of enclosures with the addition of a complimentary sheet steel painted enclosure range targeted general purpose application use. The sheet steel painted version has been technically improved to be meet with the latest standards DIN 62208 which apply to empty enclosure products. The STB (Small Terminal Box) sheet steel range is offered as heavy duty general purpose enclosure and is a complimentary product to the currently available stainless-steel versions. Available in eight different standard sizes (120 mm x 120 mm x 80 mm up to 250 mm x 400 mm x 130 mm) and with an ingress protection of IP66.

The sheet steel enclosures are finished with a textured powder paint for optimum protection. A high temperature silicone gasket has been included and to prevent the loss of the cellular structure of the enclosure sealing, gasket compression control has been incorporated into the enclosure design. This protects against over compression of the gasket material and the potential for any loss in IP performance. The temperature range is from -50° C to +120° C. Despite being design for general purpose applications, this heavy duty sheet steel enclosure has an impact resistance of 10 J. A welded internal and external earth stud (M6) is fitted to meet the earthing requirements and an earthing screw is also installed into the completely removable lid as a standard feature.

Mounting lugs are pre-fitted as standard and the enclosure has been vibration and shock tested to be secure in operation. The Klippon STB range is further enhanced with an programme of accessories, which among other articles includes cable entries/ adapters/ blanking plugs/ sealing washers/ lock nuts and breather plugs.
