SiGe mixer for 1500MHz wireless-infrastructure applications 07-09-10

Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX19993, a fully integrated, 1200MHz to 1700MHz, dual, downconverting mixer with an on-chip LO switch, buffer, and splitter. Offering exceptional levels of component integration, this single monolithic IC provides two independent downconversion channels, each with a +27dBm (typ) IIP3, 6.4dB (typ) conversion gain, and 9.8dB (typ) noise figure. Additionally, the MAX19993 offers a 2RF-2LO spurious rejection of 72dBc for an RF level of -10dBm, and 67dBc for a level of -5dBm.

This mixer is designed specifically for 1500MHz WCDMA/LTE wireless-infrastructure applications. As a complete SiGe downconverter, the device integrates two state-of-the-art mixer cores; four amplifiers; three baluns; an LO switch, buffer, and splitter; and dozens of discrete components. The 6.4dB conversion gain enables the elimination of a complete IF amplifier stage within the receiver lineup.

The MAX19993 is packaged in a 6mm x 6mm, 36-pin TQFN that is pin compatible with the MAX9985/MAX9995/MAX19985A and MAX19994A/MAX19995/MAX19995A series of 700MHz to 2200MHz dual mixers. It is pin similar to the MAX19997A/MAX19999 series of 1850MHz to 4000MHz dual mixers.

Prices for the MAX19993 start at $9.96 (1000-up, FOB USA).
