TTPCom has extended its partnership with Silicon Laboratories to allow TTPCom's GSM/GPRS protocol software to be distributed directly on Silicon Laboratories' AeroFONE single-chip cellular platform. The AeroFONE single-chip phone is a platform for entry level and feature phone GSM/GPRS handsets. The platform integrates the digital and analogue baseband, quad band transceiver, power management unit and battery charging circuitry for a GSM/GPRS class 12 cellular phone in a single, monolithic CMOS IC. Silicon Laboratories will now license the protocol software directly alongside the AeroFONE platform. This will allow these customers to have a single point of contact for platform development and support.
