Three new snap-on ferrite cores from Steward are intended for use on external cables in consumer products. Steward has designed the 28A0434-0A2, 28A0592-0A2 and 28A0593-0A2 cores to provide a sleek appearance. They therefore combine the convenience and ease-of-assembly of snap-on devices, with the look of an overmoulded core. The devices provide EMI suppression, with impedances at 25MHz ranging from 111 Ohm to 261 Ohm, and at 300MHz from 449 Ohm to 688 Ohm. The cores provide excellent common- and differential-mode EMI suppression with a single cable pass-through. Designed for use with a range of cable or wire bundle sizes up to 6.5mm in diameter, these new 28-Material-based cores feature a secure keyless closure for simple retrofit or post-production assembly.
