The german Industrial Association for Optical, Medical and Mechatronic Technologies (Industrieverband für optische, medizinische und mechatronische Technologien) Spectaris’ prognosis for the companies in the field of radiation sources and optical components for the current year is a growth of turnover of 11.5% (when compared to the previous year) to 8.9 bn Euro. According to the estimate of the association, the number of employees will increase by 3% to 46 000. This segment, with products such as laser sources, LEDs and organic LEDs, lens glasses, optical glass, lenses and fluid crystals is the core region of the optical technologies with 40% of the turnover.
