Split-core transducers for AC current measurement 22-09-06

LEM has introduced the AT series of AC current transducers with a new core material. The AT transducers combine an accurate current transformer and signal conditioning electronics in a case. They measure 44.5mm x 67mm x 36.5mm with a 16 mm diameter sensing aperture for non-contact measurement and are, therefore, particularly suitable for installation in tight environments. Being split-core and either self-powered or loop-powered they are easy to install and put into operation, which means they can be retro-fitted into existing installations without shutting down operation. The transducers have been designed to measure 50/60Hz AC signals with RMS (average) computation. They provide an absolute accuracy better than 1.5 percent of the nominal current over a broad range of inputs. A choice of primary current measurement ranges from 5A to 50A are available, with a selection of industry standard output types (4-20mA, 0-5VDC or 0-10VDC). Principal applications will be in the field of industrial process control and condition monitoring of equipment such as HVAC, conveyers and pumps.
