For a integration of CMOS camera modules in portable devices, ALPS Electric Europa has developed the sockets of the SCKA series. These surface-mountable devices are designed for 8mm x 8mm type CMOS camera modules and feature 24 vibration resistant contact pins. Furthermore, the sockets have a shielded cover and a camera module detaching function for easy handling. A mechanical locking mechanism is integrated to prevent the camera module from falling while in operation. The SCKA series is remarkable for their dimensions of 10.0mm x 10.0mm x 3.4mm (l x w x h).

The connectors are rated for voltages of 5VDC and up to 0.1A per pin and allow up to 10 mating and unmating cycles. They feature a maximum initial contact resistance of 100 milliohm, an insulation resistance of up to 1,000 megaohm and a voltage proof of 100VAC per minute. The operating temperature ranges from –25°C to +85°C. The connectors are suitable for automatic mounting and are packaged on embossed tape. They are available in minimum packing units of 1,000 pieces
