For the fourth quarter, Synopsys reported revenue of $283.4 million, an 11 percent increase compared to $254.8 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005. Revenue for fiscal year 2006 was $1.096 billion, an increase of 10.4 percent from the $991.9 million in fiscal 2005. On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006 was $9.6 million, compared to net loss of ($13.5) million, for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005. GAAP net income for the current period includes employee stock-based compensation expense of $15.1 million. GAAP net income for the fiscal year ended October 31, 2006 was $24.3 million, compared to net loss of ($15.5) million, for fiscal 2005. GAAP net income for fiscal year 2006 includes employee stock-based compensation expense of $63.0 million.
