Version 2.2 of TargetLink, the production code generator from dSPACE, due out at the end of 2006, provides support for modeling, simulating, and generating code for AUTOSAR software components. TargetLink therefore now closes a gap in the AUTOSAR-compliant development process, giving users an option to convert Simulink/TargetLink models directly into AUTOSAR-compliant production code. New function blocks enable developers to specify AUTOSAR structure elements, such as runnables and ports, simply at model level. In conjunction with TargetLink’s proven functions, this is a development environment, both for AUTOSAR-compliant production code generation, and for simulating and testing the software components. In addition, TargetLink generates what is called the software component description, which is used to integrate the code into the AUTOSAR software architecture. The AUTOSAR initiative is one of the automotive industry’s most important undertakings.
