According to the german Trade Association for Modules Distribution (Fachverband der Bauelemente Distribution; FBDi e.V.), the German components Distribution was able to increase its turnover by 1.3% to almost 2.6 bn Euro. The member companies reported 576 m Euro of cumulated turnover for the 4th quarter (603 in 603 4Q 2006). The orders received improved slightly in Q4 with a Book-to-Bill ratio of 1.06. Except for Italy, all other large European electronic markets suffered a decline. Thus, the UK reported an 8.0% weaker 4Q than 2006, France with12.5% and only Italy reported an increase of approximately 2.5%. In annual comparisons, the UK had a decline of 5.4%, France 12.9% and Italy a minus of 5.0%.
The strongest turnover group, the semiconductor components, suffered a decline of turnover of 4.7% to 396 m Euro in the 4th quarter 2007 compared to the same period of the previous year. The proportion of semiconductors of the overall turnover remained stable at 70%. In Q4/2006, passive components declined by 8.4% to 93 m Euro and the electro-mechanical by 0.3% to 70 m Euro. Power supplies grew by 3.2% and Displays by 8.4%.
