The Varta AG is shortly to sell its last production segment, the micro-batteries. As reported in the Financial Times, Germany, the investment company Barclays Capital and the Austrian Global Equity Partners are offering between 20 and 40 m Euro for the Varta Microbattery GmbH. In 2005 the Varta Battery AG had a turnover of 129.5 m Euro. This amount is 11% below that of 2004. The company has approximately 1 400 employees.
