Suyin is developing a series of right-angled SMT board-to-board connectors (male and female) with a pitch of 1.0 mm. The sliding contact technology used here ensures a reliable connection, even when it is exposed to significant mechanical shock and high impact and vibration loads. To make this possible, the connectors – which are available with pin counts from 10 to 50 contacts (in increments of 10) – are subjected to stringent factory tests in compliance with EIA-364-28 D (vibration) and EIA-364-27 B (physical shock, up to 50 times higher than gravitational acceleration).

For this reason, these robust board-to-board connectors, with their durable sliding contacts – which have 5 µm to 30 µm gold-over-nickel plating – are well suited for mobile devices and systems that are employed in harsh environments, from industrial automation to transportation technology and all the way to consumer electronics.

An additional feature is the compact design. Depending on the number of positions, the dimensions (L x W x H, in mm) of the 100367GBXXXGX01ZX male connector range from 14.35 to 54.35 x 6.80 x 3.35, and the dimensions of the 100366HBXXXGX00ZX female connector range from 14.35 to 54.35 x 5.50 x 3.35. Consequently, a 10-pin plug-and-socket connection requires only 14.35 mm x 9.0 mm x 3.35 mm (W x D x H) of space when connected.

The mating process is particularly user friendly, simple and reliable thanks to guides that have been integrated into the plastic housings for the socket and plug. The plug’s plastic housing is closed on the sides and top so that the connection is protected all the way around following insertion. In each case, two locating posts mounted on the sides aid precise mounting for both the surface-mounting plugs and SMT sockets.

Other specifications include the operating temperature range from – 40 °C to + 105 °C, the electric contact rating of 20 V DC/ 5 A per pin and, among other features, the number of mating cycles, which is specified at 1,000.
