Intersil has introduced the ISL59532 32 x 32 video crosspoint switch. The device integrates the four separate 16 x 16 crosspoint switches currently used, to create a 32 x 32 matrix (or two 32 x 16 switches). Further the ISL59532 has an integrated DC-restore clamp on every input. Each output of the device has a fast OSD (onscreen display) switch. The chip features 320 MHz bandwidth, 0.1 dB flatness to 50 MHz, a crosstalk figure of -85dB at 6 MHz and a differential gain and phase of 0.025 percent/0.05 degree. The device is suited for security video, video switchers and routers, KVM (keyboard, video, mouse), broadcast video and other video applications. The gain of the output amplifiers can be individually programmed to a gain of plus 1 or plus 2 through the SPI interface. The same interface can be used to place any output into a high impedance tri-state, so that several 32 x 32 crosspoint switches can be linked together, creating even larger matrices. Additionally, the IS59532 has crosstalk of -85dB.
