Virtual front panel for Arbitrary Waveform Generator 20-04-05

Detail from the software screenshot

The Arbitrary Waveform Generators of the 60xx and 61xx series of Spectrum Systementwicklung Microelectronic are now available with the virtual function generator SPEasyGenerator. The user interface is designed with the look and feel of common stand-alone generators. A mouse-click changes signal shape, frequency, offset, amplitude or filter settings.

Based on LabWindows/CVI

SPEasyGenerator is based on LabWindows/CVI and is available as a complex LabWindows/CVI example with complete source code. With this sources SPEasyGenerator is not only a good solution for a first hardware test or for laboratory use but it can also be the base for own programming work. As the software is designed modular and contains the three parts user interface, hardware access and signal generation it’s easy for the user to add own functionality or own signal shapes.

Also for series 60 and 61

SPEasyGenerator supports all Arbitrary Waveform Generators of the 60xx and 61xx series of Spectrum. With this signal generators with 1 to 4 channels and sampling rates of 20/60/125 MS/s are available. The 10 different versions can be ordered as PCI, CompactPCI 3U or 6U and PXI version. The up to 4 channels can drive +/-3V levels in 50 ohm load with programmable offset and amplitude. The on-board memory of up to 512 MBytes is available for all kinds of user programmed signal shapes. Besides this the card has a lot of options enhancing the application areas. As an example the DigitalOut option adds 2 synchronous digital outputs with each analog channels without consuming additional memory.

Making a system

Using the star-hub option one can build-up systems with up to 64 synchronous high-speed output channels. This option can also be used in combination with one of the huge range of data acquisition cards from Spectrum to form a Mixed-Mode system. This option natively supports the synchronization of cards with different sampling rates. As an example: A MI.6022 waveform generator and a MI.4032 data acquisition card together form a 4 channels 14 bit 50 MS/s stimulus-response system or a 4 channel 14 bit 50 MS/s data recorder with playback functionality.

Driver and more

Besides the already mentioned SPEasyGenerator software the cards are delivered with drivers for Windows and Linux and examples for C/C++, Delphi, Visual Basic. Software Interfaces for third-part measurement products like LabVIEW, VEE, DASYLab or MATLAB are also available.

The software is also available for existing customers free of charge and can be downloaded directly from the internet.
