Linear Technology announces the LT6660, a series voltage reference to use the 3-lead 2mm x 2mm DFN package. These devices combine 0.2% initial accuracy and 20ppm drift with micro-power operation and require less than half the space of the SOT-23 package. Furthermore, the LT6660 does not require an output compensation capacitor. The LT6660 accepts input voltages up to 30V and can withstand reverse-battery conditions. The output voltages include 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, 5V and 10V. With a dropout of only 900mV, this tiny device is also ideal for precision regulator applications since it can supply up to 20mA of current. Since it needs no output compensation capacitor, the LT6660 is also suited to applications with intrinsic safety requirements.
