Microchip announces a family of ten voltage supervisors. The devices offer a watchdog timer, manual reset, multiple combinations of push-pull or open-drain reset outputs, and factory trip-points from 2.0V to 4.7V in 100mV increments, all in a tiny, 5-pin SOT-23 package. The supervisors operate over an extended industrial temperature range of -40 to 125°C and are ideal for automotive and industrial applications. The MCP1316 - MCP1322 monitor voltage rails in digital systems. They operate at input voltages as low as 1.0V and up to 5.5V, consume power of 5 mikroampere typical and offer a range of trip points between 2.0V and 4.7V. To help designers get started with these new devices, Microchip offers the VSUPEV2 Voltage Supervisor SOT-23-5/6 Evaluation Board. The board is available for $10. The voltage supervisors are available today for general sampling and volume production. The devices are all offered in 5-pin, SOT-23 packages (2.95 mm x 2.8 mm).
