The manufacturer of components for electrical connection technology, Weidmüller, is expanding its logistics and galvanics segments at its headquarters in Detmold and is opening a new production facility in Rumania. The company intends to invest more than 18 million Euro in Germany and Eastern Europe in the next three years. Parallel to this, the connection technology specialist is busy establishing itself in China.
The next expansion step of the Logistic Center in Detmold has now been taken into service with an additional usable space of 3,700 sq. m. At the start of November, a production facility will be opened in the Rumanian Tauti Magheraus as a platform for entering the Eastern European market. By the end of the year it is intended to employ more than 80 persons in Rumania· In China, Weidmüller is busy expanding the site for a Competence Center for the Asiatic market. The focus, among others, is the expansion of the sales channels and the local network of suppliers, the optimization of the performance and product portfolios.
In the business year 2004, Weidmüller achieved a turnover of 360 M Euro and employs more than 2,300 persons worldwide.
