In April 2008 the American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported worldwide semiconductor sales of 21.2 bn US$ . This is 5.9% more than in April 2007. The sales figures are unchanged from those of the previous month. For the first 4 months of this year the industrial association reported 82.9 bn US$, 4.3% more than in the same period 2007.
