For October 2004 the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported worldwide semiconductor turnovers of 18.79 B US$ (October 2006: 14.2 B US$). In comparison to the previous month there was an increase of only 1.5 %. There reason for this was ascribed by the association to the fact that the companies using them were still running down their stocks.
