XMOS Semiconductor, the creator of Software Defined Silicon (SDS), a class of programmable semiconductor, has appointed Richard Terrill as Executive Vice President of Marketing. Bringing more than 20 years of marketing and engineering experience in Silicon Valley, Terrill will handle the firm's worldwide marketing and product planning activities. Terrill joins XMOS from Velogix, where he was Vice President of Marketing. He was previously with Xilinx, where he was responsible for worldwide strategic marketing, and has held senior management positions at Lightspeed, Cadence and Altera. He was a founder of RAPID, the IP business advocacy organization, and was a corporate representative to the VSI Alliance.
