Year-end 2004 at Infineon 21-11-05

For the business year 2005, the semiconductor manufacturer, Infineon announced a turnover 6.8 b Euro. That is 6 % less than the previous year. The bottom line showed a company loss of 312 m Euro. In 2004 the company was able to show a positive 256 m Euro. The fourth quarter resulted in a turnover of 1.73 b Euro with a net loss of 100 m Euro. On the 30th September 2005, Infineon employed approximately 36,400 people worldwide, compared with 35,600 in the 2004 business year. A short time ago Infineon announced the spinning-off of its memories segment. Infineon is to be split into two independent companies for logic products and memory chips. The memory product business area is to be setup as a legally independent entity by the 1st of July 2006.
