Management floor dissatisfied Only 61 M Euro profit
The chip manufacturer Infineon has closed off its business year 2004 with a turnover of 7.19 B Euro and exceeded its results for 2003 by 17 %. Of this there remains a surplus of approximately 61 m Euros. Also this is a happy result because the previous year produced red figures of 435 M Euros. The yearly turnovers rose by 11 % fir the Automotive and industrial products division, by 28 % for safe mobile solutions, by 18 % for memory chips, by 41 % for others and sank by 5 % for wired solutions. The last quarter, with a turnover of 1.99 B Euros and a company profit of 44 M Euros contributed to the overall balance. The company declared that it had savings in production and therefore, despite additional expenses for court processes in the USA and in Europe to the tune of 209 Million Europe, had achieved a positive result. Chairman of the board Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart, however, is not satisfied with the result. "Our primary aim for the coming year is an increase in productivity and efficiency while controlling the costs.” On the 30th September, Infineon employed worldwide approximately 35,000 people of which ca, 7,200 were active in research and development.
