Zarlink Semiconductor has sold the assets of its Optical Products group to Tyco Electronics for approximately US$15 million in cash. The segment includes optoelectronic technology, modules and cables for high-speed computing, security and industrial applications. Products are multi-channel laser drivers, fiber optic modules and transceivers and active optical cables. With the sale the company is now focused on its initiatives in the network timing, medical wireless and line circuit markets.
