ZigBee Transceiver and Kit 11-01-07

AeroComm enhances the ZB2430 "ZigBee Your Way" transceiver line and has developed the ZigBee Module ZB2430-D. Targeted at high volume, cost-sensitive, short-range applications where battery-powered communication is a must, ZB2430-D is a sub-$10 ZigBee module. Based on the Texas Instruments 802.15.4 System-on-Chip and Z-Stack technology, ZB2430 targets secure, low power, mesh network applications. It communicates in the 2.4GHz ISM band, making it usefull for OEMs preferring to standardize on one global platform for their end product needs. Modules are offered as either Coordinators & Routers or End-Devices. Network scan, auto-configuration, dynamic routing, discovery, and security enable the mesh network--delivering reliable redundancy, secure multi-communication nodes and long range performance.

Embedded flash memory of 128 KB provides room for larger, more complex application profiles. AeroComm's "ZigBee Your Way" concept allows OEMs to customize and optimize a hardware solution for the specific demands of their applications. Options include provisions for on-board or remote antenna, enhanced receiver sensitivity, enhanced output power, remote radio configuration, surface mount or pluggable modules. A helpful, interactive selection guide will be available online this spring. ZB2430 Developer Kits are currently available from AeroComm and Mouser Electronics. Each Kit will include evaluation boards with multiple configuration options selectable by OEM's.
