The German ZVEI (Fachverband Electronic Components and Systems) is expecting a further growth in turnover for 2007 of 5% to 184 bn Euro in the electro-technology and electronic industries in Germany. In 2006 the turnover will rise by more than 6% to 175 bn Euro. Thus, the Association increased its forecast of the summer by a good one percent. In July the ZVEI had forecast a weaker growth dynamic in the second half of the year. For the first time since 2000 the growth has not come only from the export markets. The turnover with foreign customers will contribute a good plus of 7% to the growth, the local turnover with a plus of 5%. In the year 2006 it was especially investment goods that grew by an average of 8% turnover growth while consumables grew by approximately 5%. The only exception for the good year of 2006 was the German market for semiconductor components that shrank by almost 1%. The cause of this is seen by the ZVEI by the massive turnover collapse in micro-processors, especially locally.

For 2007 the ZVEI expects an approximation again of the German component parts market to the continuing positive development of the world market. Since the start of the year 8 000 additional jobs have been created. However, there are a series of risks that could stunt the growth. Notable are the effects of price drops and higher raw material prices on the profits. In addition the strong Euro affects export profits as well as the price level in the EU areas.
